Real-life Implementation: Show Flat in the Mechanika Prague Project

One of the projects where we designed and implemented a show flat is the Mechanika apartment building in Prague, located in a former factory building where a number of smaller residential units were created. The specific apartment we were tasked with designing was a small space with high ceilings, which in itself presents a number of challenges and opportunities. The goal was to create a full-fledged and pleasant living space on a small floor plan.

We utilized the ceiling height and designed an open mezzanine for the bedroom, which visually enlarged the space while providing additional living area. Under the staircase, we integrated cleverly designed storage spaces, and custom multifunctional furniture allowed for maximum use of every centimeter. The finished apartment feels airy, organized, and harmonious. This project showed that even a studio apartment with limited space can offer a high standard of living.
