Professional Interior Design: how it Works and What You Get

Are you planning to build or renovate? We will show you why it makes sense to entrust the interior design to professionals – and how the cooperation with our interior design studio works.

Every construction project requires quality preparation. In fact, however, it is not one, but two projects – construction and interior. While the project documentation is processed by the architect, the interior design is in the hands of the interior designer. Both professions solve different tasks, but the resulting space is influenced together.

At Mooden, we design interiors that combine functionality, visual quality and attention to detail. Read how the cooperation works and what you get when you entrust the design to professionals.

Why Does Professional Interior Design Make Sense?

Cooperation with an interior designer brings a number of benefits. The first is undoubtedly the saving of time and energy. The client does not have to wade through endless combinations of furniture, colours or materials. The designer thoughtfully and elegantly connects everything into one functional unit. From the concept of the floor plan, where the logical arrangement of zones is solved, to the detailed connections of materials and accessories.
Thanks to the distance and experience, the designer can see connections that a layman often overlooks. He will use every metre, think through the daily operation so that the designed space serves well. It takes into account natural routes of movement, connections between zones, orientation to light, acoustics or the possibility of incorporating storage spaces. Instead of random solutions, a whole is created that holds together not only visually, but also operationally.

Ing. Gabriela Hatláková

Mooden Design Manager

“It is very beneficial for all parties involved if the interior design is started as early as the construction project phase. Important details can still be thought through and possibly changed in time – the location of lighting, sockets, wiring or equipment. This often prevents unnecessary costs and improvised solutions that would later unnecessarily complicate the implementation. And it doesn’t matter whether it’s an apartment, an office or a café – the principle is always the same.”

In commercial spaces – whether it is an office, café or meeting room – professional design gives the interior a unified style and atmosphere that supports the brand and makes the environment more pleasant for employees and customers.

In private interiors, the design takes into account the daily operation and individual requirements of the household. It helps to think about where you will cook, work, relax or store things – in a way that suits your habits. The result is a space where everything has its place, makes sense and is good to live in.

In addition, an experienced designer will help avoid mistakes that could be costly to correct later – whether it’s poorly chosen materials, poorly placed sockets or undersized lighting.
And last but not least, if it ever came to selling the property, a well-designed interior increases its value – both market and utility.

How Does Cooperation with the Mooden Interior Design Studio Work?

The path to a well-thought-out interior begins with a simple step – the first contact. Clients most often contact us via the website, where they can find a contact form, or call or write an e-mail directly. Then we arrange the date of the first meeting, which will take place in person or online. Wherever you are from, we will always find a way to connect.

In order to estimate the scope of work and the necessary steps as quickly and accurately as possible, it is ideal to prepare some documents. A floor plan, construction documentation in digital form (for example, PDF or DWG), photographs of the current state or inspiration that shows your style will help a lot. And of course, a brief list of wishes, requirements or limits – the more we know at the beginning, the better we can meet your expectations.

What to Expect from an Initial Consultation with an Interior Designer

The first step together is an initial consultation. At this meeting, we map your needs, lifestyle or work style, ideas about the result and budget possibilities. We are interested in your requirements for the delivery date, preferred method of communication and specific ideas about materials, colours or the atmosphere of the space.

The consultation is not just about collecting parameters. It is a space for dialogue – during which we fine-tune not only the brief, but also the overall approach. Sharing inspirations, detailed wishes and concerns is important to us. The more open you are, the better we can design a space that will be yours from the beginning. Not universal, not neutral – but truly yours.

Based on the information from the initial consultation, we will prepare a specific price offer directly for your project. After approving the price and signing the contract, we start creating.

How Interior Design Works Step by Step

When we are clear on the brief, the design itself comes into play. The whole process has a fixed structure, but at the same time it is flexible enough to be adapted to specific needs.

1. Space measurement
If we do not have accurate data from the project or the client is reconstructing, we go to the site. We measure the rooms, verify the heights, details of the building openings and record the condition of the installations.

2. Digital preparation
We convert everything into digital form – we create drawings, technical documents and basic models with which we continue to work.

3. First design solution
We prepare a concept of layout and basic stylistic tuning. The client receives a proposal with a commentary that explains the logic of the individual elements.

4. Consultation and adjustments
Together we discuss the proposal and adjust what is needed according to the feedback. Sometimes we only fine-tune small things, other times we look for a new path, but always within a clearly defined brief.

5. Final design
Once the design is refined, we prepare its final form. This includes mood boards, 3D photorealistic visualizations, output documentation (technical dimensional description of atypical furniture and materials, list of recommended elements). In the visualizations and documents, you will find specific interior elements – furniture, lighting, cladding, tiles and other elements – which serve as a template for the production or purchase of equipment.

6. Implementation
After the design is completed, we can help you with the implementation. We can recommend proven implementation companies and suppliers with whom we have good experience. If you wish, we will be in contact during the implementation itself – we consult on details, help with the selection of specific elements and ensure that the result corresponds to the design.
